Dispute about Public Relations - between Social and Marketing communication.
The three areas - Marketing, Public Relations, and Advertising - are connected between each other, have an impact on each other, but they are not the same, stated the article. PR, as a form of promotion, is independent management function that helps to establish and maintain two-way communication between the organization and its audience, when marketing and advertising, on the other hand, mostly have a direct impact on the audience, creating so-called one-way communication channel. According to the article, PR is described as a side of marketing for promoting products and services and act as a tool for promoting the message in advertising campaigns. The main distinction between these three areas lies within ways of promoting messages, company trust, and external ethics. Therefore, Marketing is mostly concentrates on promoting and selling, while PR is focused on maintaining a positive appearance of the company.
