Chapter: New and Mobile Media Technologies, Innovation, and Investment.

  Mobile technology blurs the line between real and virtual worlds. Mobile technology nowadays has been changing our cultures, making people more and more global by providing them with instant access to all the information in the world. Mobile culture embraces the "placeless" lifestyle, introducing the practices of globalization in the virtual world. 

 Most people nowadays have access to the internet through their smartphones, that makes access to information easier and 24 hours a day, that is completely changing the usage of social media channels  - people are always connected and always online. I can prove it with my own experience- I was far away from my family and friends for almost a year but I always was online and connected through the social media channels with them, and when we finally met, we found ourselves " the distance was not that bad" because we always had the access to write and call each other. 

 We are closer to the complete combination of virtual and reality when the technology will make it as powerful as face-to-face interaction.

Lecture Presentation Activity

Jeopardy board Credit: Valeria Dibrova The activity I used after the presentation (which can be seen here ) is based on classic TV showed "Jeopardy" where members actually create a question on given answer. I did the opposite - I created the questionary where all the teams were able to answer given questions.  The fundament of the Jeopardy was based on my presentation about metrics and analytics and covered common themes in this social media "field".  The following are couple slides from presentation (for every answer I added a funny gif to cheer my classmates)
